Advanced student leading in Heathers 101

Progressive Arts offers three levels of group classes, private lessons, and yearly summer camps/theater workshops for kids and teens.

The group classes feature a touring troupe which performs at events throughout the Tampa Bay Area. Events that Progressive Arts performs at include the Stone Crab Festival, Dunedin's Old Fashioned Christmas, Santa's Breakfast, Easter Bunny Brunch, and other events throughout the community as well as performing before Films in the Park in downtown Dunedin. The touring troupe also performs at multiple events benefitting special needs kids, charities, and festivals in the area.

Founder and executive director Kirsten Stiff-Walker believes that being a talented performer also means having the influence to better the community.

Progressive Arts is a leader in the area of bringing kids to perform for good causes. Over the years, Progressive Arts has grown, and with that our reach has grown in giving back to the community in such a way that our students actively seek out opportunities to help in the area. Kirsten also volunteers and assists at local high schools with a strong belief in giving back to the school systems as well.

Progressive Arts recently had the opportunity to perform with the Manatee Opera in collaboration with LaDee-Da Kids Spa and as vocal soloists with the Dunedin Concert Band.

Progressive Arts teens also have the opportunity to model in Wearable Art with choreography by Kirsten.

Last spring, Progressive Arts performed Shakespeare in the Park at the Dunedin Community Center Park Stage. Progressive Arts is excited to return again this year!

Our Main Stage shows draw crowds from all over the area to watch our incredible performances, such as our cabaret of Broadway musical numbers and our summer workshops and camps at the end of the year.

Progressive Arts performs full-length musicals during summer workshops and kids camps. Last year, students in our Middle/High school and College Workshop performed Heathers 101 for the first time in the Tampa Bay Area, and our Kids Camp performed an adaptation of Trolls onstage. This summer's shows will be announced soon!

"Kirsten is without a doubt one of the best instructors I've ever had. She is more than qualified for her job, not only because of her experiences but because she is in a constant state of growth herself."
